Employee Spotlight – Evan Markley

Employee Spotlight – Evan Markley

This month’s Employee Spotlight is on Engage fi’s Manager of Analytics, Joseph “Evan” Markley. After working at a large credit union, Evan was given the chance to transition to Engage fi and “could not pass on the amazing opportunity!” In Evan’s approximately 457 days (or roughly one year, four months) with Engage fi, Evan has performed above and beyond, always impressing the team with his data visualization skills. As Manager of Analytics, Evan is involved with all things data-related and oversees the pricing team and all deliverables. Evan and his team decompose, normalize, and analyze service costs from our client’s current state against offers from prospective vendors using historical industry databases, catalogs, public reports, and proprietary business intelligence technology.

Evan, who happens to have a twin brother, was born and raised in Summerfield, North Carolina. Evan has an interesting education history, including attending a Spanish immersion magnet school throughout elementary school. Every class was taught in Spanish apart from a one-hour-per-day English class. As a result, Evan became fluent in Spanish. After that, Evan decided to transition to a traditional public school to focus on sports, mainly because of his interest in basketball. After graduating high school, Evan went to undergraduate school in Wilmington, NC, and has not left since (except for moving for one year to complete his graduate program at William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA).

While a junior in college, Evan met his wife and four years later got married. That same year, he was diagnosed with cancer and is now a cancer survivor. This was a transformative experience for Evan and does his best to live each day to the fullest and influence others in a positive way. Evan and his wife live in Wilmington with their two miniature dachshunds, who they love more than anything. When Evan isn’t working, he’s most likely out on a run, enjoying the peace of mind it brings him.
