As an Executive Affiliate for Engage fi, Gene shares deep industry wisdom through thought provoking content, helping to advise the next generation of financial leaders while building loyalty to the credit union industry.     

Gene, a steward of the credit union industry, brings over 40 years of experience in financial services. Most notably, he served as President/CEO of Rogue Credit Union from 2007 until his retirement in 2022, guiding its growth from $300 million to $3 billion in assets and expanding its presence across three states. A graduate of Southern Oregon University with both a bachelor's and a master's in business, Gene has also earned top honors from the Western CUNA Management School.  

Beyond his executive leadership, Gene has been deeply engaged in community and industry service. He has held key roles on the GoWest Credit Union Foundation Board, the Southern Oregon University Foundation Board of Trustees, and federal and state advisory councils. In 2022, he was inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders. Today, Gene shares his expertise as a mentor and advisor, including serving on the advisory board of Sparrow, a fintech startup focused on student lending. He was also recently honored with the 2025 James D. Likens Alumni Recognition Award by the Western Credit Union Managment School for significant achievements in the credit union industry.
