After over 41 years in the financial services industry, John joins Engage fi as an Executive Affiliate. In his role, John is giving back to emerging leaders/CEOs by offering industry insights and leadership expertise through thought-provoking content, aiming to guide the next generation and build values-driven cultures.   

John Cassidy is a seasoned banking executive having served 23 years as CEO of Sierra Central Credit Union, where he led its expansion to $2 billion in assets and 20 branches. He also held prominent leadership roles in the California Credit Union League (CCUL), including two terms as Chair and nine years as Chair of the CCUL PAC. A strong advocate for philanthropy, he co-founded and twice chaired the CCUL/NCUL CMN Wine Auction, which raised over $20 million for children’s hospitals across California and Nevada.  

Beyond banking, John has had an exciting parallel career in sports media and community service. His lifelong involvement in basketball spans playing, coaching, and broadcasting, including producing NBA All-Star charity games and hosting the Sierra Central Sports Roundtable, which aired nationally and locally for over a decade. He has served as an honorary base commander at Beale Air Force Base, sits on the Yuba College Foundation Board, and is a current trustee. In 2013, he launched “THE EVENT,” an annual Northern California concert series supporting local causes. In 2024, he founded John Cassidy & Associates LLC, offering consulting and media services.
