“Working with CU Engage was a great experience! Their expertise and communication skills were invaluable in making our search for the right plastic card processor a breeze. They handled all of the heavy-lifting which freed up time for us to work on running the credit union.”

Headquarters: Tampa, FL
Based out of Tampa, Florida, USF Federal Credit Union has $778+ million in assets and is dedicated to helping the University of South Florida’s faculty, staff, students, alumni association members, and their families with their financial needs. With more than 60,000 members, several branch locations, and thousands of shared fee-free ATMs nationwide, USF Federal Credit Union is there for its members when they need them, and aim to provide the services their members value most.
“Strength. Stability. Power. Support. These qualities that define the mighty Bull, mascot of University of South Florida, are the principles upon which we’ve been helping people since 1959.”
Members of USF Federal Credit Union are treated like family, whether they are taking out a loan, making a deposit, or anything in between. The credit union aims to provide financial solutions that will improve their members’ lives. Members are valued and receive benefits like member rewards, no-hassle home and auto loans with low rates, flexible terms, and warranty protection.
USF Federal Credit Union is actively involved in their community and donated over $70,000 worth of resources and services to various charitable organizations throughout the Tampa and Central Florida Areas in 2019. In addition, the credit union donates to the University of South Florida, and has partnerships with the USF College of Health and Muma College of Business, in addition to supporting many other organizations and student activities on campus.
USF Federal Credit Union had improvements they wanted to implement into their credit and debit portfolios, and their separate credit and debit platforms weren’t meeting the needs of or their membership. CU Engage was asked to come in to help the credit union meet their credit and debit goals, and to streamline the ability for members to self-serve and receive a consistently seamless experience across all channels, as well as ease of use in staff facing systems in order to create efficiency.
The team from CU Engage and the team at USF Federal Credit Union worked together seamlessly from the beginning: the requirements gathering session, where the CU Engage team learns about the current state of the credit and debit environment at USF Federal Credit Union and their pain points, through the vendor evaluations and contract negotiations were collaborative and productive.
Due to the ability to work beautifully together, great strides were made on behalf of the members. The credit union was able to evaluate vendors and make the best possible decision for their members and their staff while becoming more efficient and cutting costs.
In addition to nearly $600,000 in savings and incentives plus additional partnership credits added over the term of the agreement, the project yielded reduced costs in the contract for contactless and instant issuance, and commitment to grow the credit unions’ credit and debit portfolios.
